World Turtle Day Celebration and Exploration 2019

BSBCC has been invited to take part in a 2-weeks programme organized by Sabah Wildlife Department (SWD) called as Turtle Exploration Programme in conjunction of World Turtle Day 2019 celebration, aiming for Sandakan’s primary, secondary, tertiary educational institutions and also for the local working community. As a part of wildlife conservation effort in Sabah, BSBCC not only serves to protect and conserve the sun bear, but also including all the terrestrial and marine wildlife in Sabah, especially in terms of information and knowledge sharing to the public. The first day of the programme on the 10th of July 2019 started at SM St. Cecilia, a secondary school at Sandakan followed by a community outreach on the next day at Inland Revenue Board of Malaysia (LHDN) Complex Sandakan Branch (11th July 2019) and subsequently, SMK Perempuan Sandakan (12th July 2019). The second week involved several more primary and secondary school and a tertiary educational institute, namely SMK Sandakan Bestari (15th July 2019), SK Nunuyan Laut (16th July 2019), SMK Muhibbah (17th July 2019), Politeknik Sandakan (17th July 2019), Sandakan Community College (Kolej Komuniti Sandakan) (23rd July 2019) and Industrial Training Institute (Institut Latihan Perindustrian)(23rd July 2019)
